ST KILDA has signed Carlton ruck Rhiannon Watt, bringing its 2018 VFLW best and fairest winner back to the club.
Watt was co-winner of the Southern Saints’ award alongside Alison Drennan, who has also moved to the club from North Melbourne.
The 31-year-old former Australian volleyballer played two AFLW games for the Blues this year, struggling at times to break into a side featuring established ruck Alison Downie.
"It feels great to be home," Watt said.
"It was a pretty incredible experience (at Carlton)…it was really enjoyable.
"It was a real team environment. That's something I pride myself on and I'm hoping I can bring that back to the Saints."
Watt and Drennan join former Magpie Darcy Guttridge, open-age signing (and 2017 Blue) Alison Brown and under-18 signings Molly McDonald and Isabella Shannon on St Kilda's list as the club builds towards its first AFLW season in 2020.
