ADELAIDE'S record-breaking win over Greater Western Sydney has seen four Crows selected in womens.afl's team of the week for round five.

Ebony Marinoff and Anne Hatchard dominated the midfield, while McKenzie Dowrick and Ash Woodland capitalised in attack.

The team is selected to mirror the All-Australian side: five defenders, six midfielders (including a ruck), five forwards and five interchange players.

Like the All-Australian team, it has players selected in general categories, rather than in traditional positions. The 16-a-side set-up often means teams play with varying configurations, making set selections (e.g wings and flanks) difficult.

DEFENDERS

Mua Laloifi (Carlton), Katie Lynch (Western Bulldogs), Meg McDonald (Geelong), Maddie Shevlin (Richmond), Serene Watson (Gold Coast)

Shevlin played one of her best games in Tigers colours with 24 disposals and 658m gained, while Lynch held the fort for the Dogs with 22 and eight intercepts.

Laloifi (14 intercepts) kept Carlton from completely falling out of its match against Melbourne, McDonald (14 disposals, 10 intercepts) controlled play from defence and Watson (18 and nine intercepts) was one of the Suns' best.

MIDFIELDERS

Sarah Lakay (West Coast, ruck), Jasmine Garner (North Melbourne), Anne Hatchard (Adelaide), Ebony Marinoff (Adelaide), Amy McDonald (Geelong), Hayley Miller (Fremantle)

It's hard to look past Lakay's total of 42 hitouts – the second-highest in AFLW history – and a NAB AFLW Rising Star nomination, with Mim Strom and Lucy Wales also in the running.

Hatchard (28 disposals and three goals) and Marinoff (36, 12 tackles and seven clearances) ran riot against Greater Western Sydney, while the Western Bulldogs had no answer for Garner (26 and 11 inside 50s).

McDonald surely scooped up another three votes with a 34-disposal, 11-clearance and 10-tackle match, and Miller (26 and eight clearances) was the match-winner for the Dockers.

FORWARDS

McKenzie Dowrick (Adelaide), Tahlia Fellows (Hawthorn), Brooke Lochland (Sydney), Shelley Scott (Geelong), Ash Woodland (Adelaide)

Adelaide duo Dowrick (career-high four goals) and Woodland (three) took full advantage of the Crows' midfield dominance in their rout of GWS.

Scott celebrated her move back to the forward line with a bag of three, Lochland was on world-record pace with three first-quarter goals, while Fellows celebrated Hawthorn's first win with three of her own.

INTERCHANGE

Kiara Bowers (Fremantle), Mikala Cann (Collingwood), Tayla Harris (Melbourne), Akec Makur Chuot (Hawthorn), Charlie Rowbottom (Gold Coast)

Rowbottom's fine form continued with another 30 disposals, nine tackles and six clearances, Bowers laid a whopping 18 tackles (as well as 17 disposals and five clearances) as she begins to return to her best, and Cann (20, 11 tackles, eight clearances) was the Pies' strongest.

Harris notched up her 50th goal amid her bag of three, also spending some time in the ruck, while Makur Chuot (13, 411m gained) provided plenty of spark in defence.
