IT'S A CASE of one player out, one player in for St Kilda after day three of the AFLW Sign and Trade Period.

Quick forward Jess Sedunary has returned back to Adelaide after one season at St Kilda. The Saints also handed pick 42 over to the Crows, receiving pick 34 in return (both are third-round selections).

Sedunary played the first three seasons of the AFLW at the Crows before leaving for fresh opportunities. Given the present circumstances surrounding COVID-19 and having sustained a badly broken ankle playing in the SANFLW during July, Sedunary has decided to remain with family in Adelaide.

St Kilda snared hard-running utility Bianca Jakobsson from Melbourne in a complex three-way trade also involving North Melbourne.

The well-travelled Jakobsson, 27, is expected to play alongside fellow new recruit Jayde Van Dyk in a significant boost to the Saints' defensive stocks. She will also be joining her partner Darcy Guttridge at the club.

She played all seven games for Carlton in 2017, and 13 for Melbourne in 2018 and 2019, before taking 2020 off to accommodate for her position in the Victorian police academy. 

The complicated deal saw North Melbourne trade pick 29 to Melbourne and the Demons trading Jakobsson to St Kilda. 

The Kangaroos then traded pick 40 (originally from Collingwood for Abbey Green) and their fourth-round selection (currently 57) to the Saints for pick 22 and their fourth-round selection (currently 50). 

The deal improved North's position in the second round and saw Melbourne receive a mid-second rounder for Jakobsson.

Melbourne also confirmed forward Ainslie Kemp (10 games over four seasons) would not be offered a contract for 2021.

The 23-year-old has had a horror run with knee injuries, rupturing her left ACL (her "good" knee, after two torn right ACLs) in round two of this year.

Collingwood announced the re-signings of skipper Steph Chiocci, defender Ebony O'Dea, and rising youngsters Lauren Butler, Alana Porter and Mikala Cann.

The Pies have also signed former Australian rower Imogen Purcell as a rookie. The extraordinarily multi-talented 21-year-old has also competed in track and field at a national level, and basketball and netball at a state level.

The AFLW trade period closes at 2pm AEST on Wednesday 12 August, with clubs able to re-sign existing players, restricted (17 August) and delisted free agents (21 August) beyond that deadline.
