WESTERN Bulldogs defender Isabel Huntington and Greater Western Sydney midfielder Tait Mackrill have been named the round six NAB AFL Women's Rising Star nominees.

Huntington has been a revelation as an intercept defender after Bulldogs coach Nathan Burke made the switch for the injury-riddled talent's third season. 

The 21-year-old is equal-first in the competition for contested marks and second for intercept possessions.

The former No.1 pick racked up 15 disposals in just her 10th game against the Dockers, but she's finally feeling like she can trust her body.

"I haven't played four games in a row or however many it has been for a very long time, so it's nice to be back out there," Huntington said after the loss to Fremantle.

"Every game you play you build more confidence in terms of game style, but in the knees and in the body as well."

Mackrill played her strongest game yet, picking up 20 disposals against Adelaide.

It hasn't been an easy journey for Mackrill after being taken with pick nine in the 2017 NAB AFLW Rookie Draft.

She didn't play a game in 2018, but was kept on the list for 2019 before being delisted and then picked up again by the Giants. 

Mackrill has averaged 17 disposals in her two games this year, a huge jump from her eight touches per game in 2019.
