North Melbourne has strengthened its commitment to the community, hosting participants from the Parliament of World Religions at Arden Street.

Some of the Kangaroos' stars were on hand at the club's new facility on Tuesday to welcome the enthusiastic youths as members of the first community group to enjoy North Melbourne's state-of-the-art theatrette and basketball court.

The Parliament of World Religions, held in Melbourne this week, aims at bringing together the world’s religious and spiritual communities to discuss peace, sustainability and diversity.

Members of the Israeli-Palestinian Peace Team showed their skills with the football, while Hamish McIntosh, Scott Thompson, Daniel Wells, Josh Smith and Aaron Edwards took control of a special indoor football clinic.

"We've got the new facility now to work with the community and it was great to start today with many people from different religions. It's a joy to help out with the club's multicultural events and I hope this is the start of something that will continue for years to come at Arden Street." Edwards told kangaroos.com.au.
