Adelaide
The Crows will take a settled line-up into Saturday night's semi-final with the Sydney Swans at the SCG. The only slight injury concern is key forward Josh Jenkins, who rolled his ankle in the 62-point win against North Melbourne in last weekend's elimination final, but he should be right to be play. Fringe swingman Ricky Henderson will again come into consideration at the match committee meeting. Henderson was squeezed out of the side for the elimination final to allow Brodie Smith to return from concussion. David Mackay justified his selection for the elimination final with 22 possessions and provided plenty of run through the midfield. Midfielder Cam Ellis-Yolmen – the other omission from the Crows team that lost to West Coast in round 23 – will miss at least a week with a hamstring injury sustained in the SANFL. Mitch Grigg had 28 touches for the Crows reserves in their 54-point semi-final win against South Adelaide. Riley Knight (22 touches), defender Andy Otten and forward Jono Beech (seven goals) also impressed. - Lee Gaskin
Hawthorn
After missing the qualifying final heartstopper due to illness, forward James Sicily is almost certain to return to add some marking power to the Hawks' forward line. Sicily could come in as a direct swap for Ryan Burton if the versatile youngster fails to overcome a corked calf in time for Friday night's do-or-die semi-final clash with the Western Bulldogs. Speedy wingman Billy Hartung was unlucky to be dropped for the Cats loss and will come under consideration. Last time against the Bulldogs, the Hawks were smashed for contested possessions and clearances after half-time and it almost cost them the game. Whether they choose to address this by recalling Will Langford to help counter the likes of Tom Liberatore, Luke Dahlhaus and Caleb Daniel remains to be seen. But Alastair Clarkson tends not to be too reactive at selection, particularly in the finals. The Hawks were an errant kick away from knocking off a very good Geelong side in a match they controlled for lengthy stages. The Hawthorn coach will likely stick with most of the same 22, particularly on their home deck at the MCG. - Travis King and Ashley Browne
Sydney Swans
Ruckman Kurt Tippett (jaw) and young defender Callum Mills (hamstring) have already been ruled out of Saturday's clash with Adelaide, with the Swans holding onto hope that both men can play again this season. Likely replacements Toby Nankervis and Jeremy Laidler were pulled out of last week's NEAFL Grand Final loss to the Giants to be on standby for the seniors this week, so they'll be fresh to take on the Crows. Speedster Zak Jones would have been a chance to take Mills' spot but he's already been ruled out with concussion after being knocked out in the reserves' decider, and with Adelaide's batch of medium to tall forwards in Taylor Walker, Josh Jenkins, Tom Lynch and Mitch McGovern, Laidler looms as the man John Longmire will go with. Veteran Ted Richards was solid on Giant James Stewart in the NEAFL last week, but is a long shot to add to his 261 games, and has likely pulled on the Bloods' jumper for the last time. Fringe players Harry Cunningham, Dean Towers and Brandon Jack didn't exactly stand up and demand to be picked, but small forward James Rose was creative and kicked two goals from 19 possessions to keep the pressure on Tom Papley and Ben McGlynn. - Adam Curley

Western Bulldogs
The Bulldogs appear to have three players in line to replace injured midfielder Lin Jong for Friday night's semi-final against Hawthorn. Forward Toby McLean, midfielder Lukas Webb and running defender Roarke Smith were all late withdrawals from Footscray's 18-point VFL semi-final win over Essendon on Sunday. With only a five-day break until the AFL final, the three are frontrunners to replace Jong after he broke his collarbone in the stirring win over West Coast. McLean, who was a traveling emergency for the Eagles clash, hasn't played since the final home and away game of the VFL season on August 27. The 20-year-old also missed a large chunk of the season with an ankle injury and has only played one senior game since round 11. Webb and Smith were solid contributors for Footscray last weekend and have played five and one AFL games this season respectively. Out of the other possible inclusions, midfielders Koby Stevens, Nathan Hrovat and Bailey Williams all appear out of the selection picture after playing a full game against the Bombers. All three were solid contributors, with Hrovat kicking a crucial goal late in the final term from the boundary. Senior-list players Jed Adcock, Mitch Honeychurch and Bailey Dale (three goals) were three of Footscray's best, while dumped key defender Fletcher Roberts toiled manfully. Ruckmen Tom Campbell and Will Minson had little impact on the game and seem long shots to receive a recall. - Ryan Davidson
