GREATER Western Sydney's proposed deal with Adelaide for pick No.2 in next week's 17-year-old mini draft is almost complete - a deal that will hand the Crows the rights to select gun teenager Brad Crouch.

Adelaide has pick No.10 in this year's NAB AFL Draft, and received pick No.24 from Hawthorn on Wednesday in exchange for emerging forward Jack Gunston, with the two clubs also exchanging later draft picks.

That trade paved the way for more discussions between Adelaide and the Giants, and GWS list manager Stephen Silvagni declared his club was now close to completing a deal that would send pick No.2 in next Monday's mini draft to the Crows.

"Adelaide and the Greater Western Sydney Giants are certainly in discussions and pretty much have confirmed a deal, which the details will come out tomorrow," Silvagni told afl.com.au's Trade Week Radio.

"We're really close to having done that deal.

"Nothing has been finalised, but we're fairly confident everything will go through smoothly there."

Silvagni's announcement came just hours after the Giants dealt the rights to select Western Australian sensation Jaeger O'Meara with the No.1 pick in the mini draft to Gold Coast.

In return, GWS received the Suns' no.4 selection in this year's National Draft. The clubs also exchanged other draft picks.

The Giants have now secured the first five selections in the draft, but Silvagni said he would not rule out trading one of the elite picks if the right offer came along.

"It's certainly unlikely we'll trade any of those top five picks, but having said that, if something does pop up that does look very attractive to us, we certainly need to look at it," he said.

Silvagni said GWS was still negotiating with the Brisbane Lions and Port Adelaide on securing retired veterans Luke Power, Chad Cornes and Dean Brogan, but was hopeful of resolving that.

He also said the Giants would resume talks with Hawk Rick Ladson's manager in the next 24 to 48 hours about a possible move.

No trades are official until paperwork has been accepted by the AFL and formally recognised after 2pm on Monday, October 17.
