FOR THE first time in 10 years, an Adelaide player will wear the No.19 jumper in 2018.
Father-son rookie Jackson Edwards – the son of club great Tyson – will get the honour after the club retired the guernsey as part of the the '19th Man' marketing campaign in 2008.
Adelaide CEO Andrew Fagan said the time for a change was right and it was "accentuated by the fact it will be worn by an Edwards, a name synonymous with our club".
Adelaide handed out all of its new numbers on Friday, with first round pick Darcy Fogarty not afraid of taking on a famous jumper.
The No.12 pick will wear the No.32 guernsey, previously worn by Brownlow medalist and eight-time All Australian Mark Ricciuto and former Crows club champion Patrick Dangerfield.
Fellow draftee Andrew McPherson will also take on the jumper of a Crows great when he sports No.36, made famous by three-time club champion and former skipper Simon Goodwin.
Big name recruit Bryce Gibbs will wear No.6 after 231 games in the No.4 for Carlton, while former Kangaroo Sam Gibson has switched from No.43 to No.20.
Best and fairest winner Matt Crouch (5), midfielder Hugh Greenwood (1) and Myles Poholke (10) have all switched numbers.
Rookie Lachie Murphy has taken over Crouch's previous number, 44, fellow rookie Patrick Wilson has No.31, and Cam Ellis-Yolmen – delisted and re-drafted as a rookie –remains in No.28.
