HAWTHORN midfielder Michael Osborne was admitted tohospital on Monday night after tests confirmed internal bleeding following the Hawks' round 13 match against Collingwood last Sundaynight.

Osborne left the ground with aback spasm soon after taking a mark and kicking a goal late in the final quarterof the game.

The spasm settled over night, but anintense pain in his stomach region did not subside and he was sent for scans bythe club doctor on Monday.

The scans revealed some damage to blood vesselsaround his intestine.

Osborne will remain in hospital forthe next day or two, the club said in a statement, and will be unavailable for selection this weekend againstAdelaide.

Hawthorn said it would be guided byspecialists on Osborne's safe return to training andplaying.
