kangaroos.com.au says:
Starting the season as a third-year rookie, it was always going to be a make-or-break year for Luke Delaney.
He was given a chance in the NAB Cup, but took an even bigger step when handed an opportunity with Nathan Grima on the sidelines. On debut against the Lions, he played on Brisbane champion Jonathan Brown and earned praise for his brave performance in trying circumstances.
Strong in the contest, he played eight games through the middle part of the year and was only forced out due to North's depth in defence.
He looked a chance for a late-season call-up, but instead opted to head in for shoulder surgery in a bid to be right for the club's high altitude camp in Utah.
