Since the turn of the century, the Carlton Football Club’s Interstate Membership base has rapidly expanded to the point where approximately 1 in 5 Carlton Members are from outside Victoria! You only have to attend an interstate pre-match function to truly get an idea of the kind of support the Mighty Blues have when they fly interstate.
Last week’s Fremantle v Carlton pre-match function at The Italian Club hosted nearly 500 Carlton-mad Members and supporters. The Carlton faithful dined together with the Nick Stevens, Brett Ratten, Luke Blackwell and Paul Bower before hopping onto a bus where they belted out the Carlton theme song a few times before settling into Subiaco Oval.
Carlton are flying interstate in Round 15 (Sydney), 16 (Brisbane) and 19 (Port Adelaide) for the remainder of the 2007 season. The Club will be holding pre-match functions before each of these matches with ‘Stevo’ and other Carlton identities in attendance.
