An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Schools & Clubs Coordinator to join the Western Bulldogs. We are one of the 18 clubs of the Australian Football League (AFL) and situated in the fastest growing region of Australia.
The position of Schools & Clubs Coordinator is responsible for the development and delivery of a broad range of school and grassroots community football initiatives including the Bulldogs Friendly Schools and AFL Multicultural Programs. It also includes the coordination of other community initiatives that are delivered by the Western Bulldogs in partnership with key education and junior football partners in the west of Melbourne.
The role will include the following key responsibilities:
- To coordinate the successful implementation of the Bulldogs Friendly Schools Program (primary and secondary schools) including coordination of schools, mentoring of Pre-Service Teachers, delivering training programs and developing resources.
- Assist in the review and implementation of new school educational resources for Bulldogs Friendly Schools
- Assist the Western Region Football League, Local Clubs and Bulldogs Friendly Auskick centres to implement club development programs such as cultural awareness training, fan development initiatives and referral processes from community engagement programs with target groups such as people with a disability, indigenous Australians and multicultural new arrivals.
- Coordinate visits to all Bulldogs Backyard (home matches) for schools and community clubs including at least one multicultural school to partake in NAB Auskick Rules and/or grid game at the MCG or Etihad Stadium during half-time of an AFL match
- Assist with Fan Development Department activities including Match Day, Dahlhaus Clubhouse Clinic, Female Football Engagement and experiential marketing
- Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent work experience in sports management and/or education preferred
- Demonstrated experience in the delivery of grassroots football or sport development programs
- Experience in working with people from a culturally and linguistically diverse background (CALD)
- Understanding of the sports entertainment industry, the AFL and community club landscapes
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills, time management and the ability work well under pressure on a variety of tasks
- Passionate, motivated and proactive person - willingness to “get stuck in”
