> Watch Leigh Brown in the MCG rooms after win

Collingwood’s Leigh Brown arguably played his best game in black and stripes on Saturday afternoon against Richmond.

He backed up his second consecutive three-goal haul with 19 possessions and 10 marks, both numbers his highest as a Magpie.

Brown, a veteran of 215 AFL games, applauded the team effort on display in front of 66,727 onlookers.

"It was a really good win and we shared it around as a team," Brown told CTV in the MCG rooms after the win.

"We thought it was a really good team effort today.  We went out with a plan and we stuck to it and we didn't let off from the start.

"The guys stuck to their structures and played their part."

Brown highlighted the side’s ability to extend the margin at every break as a sign of confidence and maturity from the playing group.

"It’s something we have been working on.  We have always had good starts this year and focused on maintaining it throughout the game."

Brown, who had 10 hitouts on the day, says he enjoys the freedom to move up the ground to assist ruckman Darren Jolly.  The utility has now played 11 senior games this year after he was forced to play a month of football in the VFL.

"It’s been good.  Getting up the ground and helping Jolly out in the ruck.  It’s good to have a run around and kick a couple of goals as well.

"I have worked my way into this team which has been hard.  Every week there is pressure on spots."
