Geelong has recalled premiership players Mackie and Rooke for Sunday’s qualifying final clash against the Saints at the MCG, but could not find a third place for David Wojcinski.

Forwards Shannon Byrnes and Ryan Gamble are the unlucky ones to come out of the team, but have been named as emergencies along with Wojcinski.

An achilles injury has kept Wojcinski out of the senior side since round 15, but the speedy defender has played the past two matches in the VFL.

Ross Lyon was always going to make one change to his St Kilda side after losing Sean Dempster to a serious knee injury, but he has settled on two with Andrew McQualter joining Clarke in the team at the expense of Shane Birss.

Clarke, 24, will play his first game since round seven with his season plagued by hamstring injuries since then.

Birss has been named as an emergency along with David Armitage and Jack Steven, who could still make his debut.

The Swans also made a late change to their emergency list with Jesse White replacing Heath Grundy after a training mishap.

On Thursday, Hawthorn recalled veteran Shane Crawford for Friday night's qualifying final against the Bulldogs.

Crawford, 33, was rested last week and came in at the expense of Xavier Ellis who dropped back to the emergencies with Jarryd Morton and Cameron Stokes.

The Western Bulldogs named ruckman Ben Hudson in their team to face the Hawks.

Hudson missed last week with a hamstring strain, but comes back into the side with midfielder Farren Ray. Wayde Skipper and Sam Reid, who made his debut against the Crows, were omitted.

Skipper is an emergency with Andrejs Everitt and Stephen Tiller.

Adelaide will be without important forward Jason Porplyzia (shoulder) for Saturday's elimination final against the Magpies at AAMI Stadium, and he won't play again this season.

He was replaced in the side by taller option Brad Moran as the only change for the Crows who could not find room for Brent Reilly, an emergency with Ken McGregor and Bryce Campbell.

Collingwood regained Dale Thomas for the sudden-death encounter, but skipper Burns lost his battle with a calf while Shane Wakelin could not force his way into the side.

Thomas, 21, has recovered from a knee strain he sustained in round 20 against Port Adelaide, with Danny Stanley making way.
