Lions Vice-Captain Jed Adcock may be another newcomer to the AFL Dream Team concept, but he has done plenty of homework over the pre-season.

From early indications, he certainly seems to have the knowledge - and confidence - to be a serious threat in the fantasy football competition.

His side - ‘Jed’s Juggernaut’ - is just one of 850 teams already registered in the Lions’ own private AFL Dream Team group.

Adcock is one of three Lions players together with Ash McGrath and Justin Sherman who are set to go head-to-head against Lions fans.

The Club is hoping to reach 1,500 participants before the registration lockout at 5pm on Thursday 25 March and encourages all existing teams to invite at least one additional friend or family member to sign-up and become part of the highly competitive ‘Lions league’.

Adcock was unabashed when speaking about his chances of winning the Lions’ Dream Team competition and also provided some handy Dream Team hints and tips exclusively for lions.com.au visitors.

Which Lions player should Dream Team coaches keep an eye on in 2010?

Matt Maguire. He comes at a relatively low cost because he missed the better part of two seasons with St Kilda through injury. He should be an almost certain starter for us down back this year and has the experience and ability to become one of the bargains of 2010.

Which non-Lions player should Dream Team coaches keep an eye on in 2010?

I think Tadhg Kennelly from the Swans is really good value. After taking last season off to go and play Gaelic footy over in Ireland, his price has dropped considerably. I think most people will be looking at him in their backline.

The other one to watch is Robbie Warnock from Carlton. With Matthew Kreuzer possibly playing forward more often this year, Warnock should get plenty of game-time in the ruck.

What Lions players do you currently have in your side?

Matt Maguire (Defender) - See above.

Brendan Fevola (Forward) - He should kick plenty of goals this year and is also a great tackler inside the forward 50.

Tom Rockliff (Forward) - He isn’t expensive and has shown during the pre-season that he can find plenty of the footy.

More than 850 people have already registered for the Lions’ Dream Team competition. Where do you expect to finish?

First - then daylight second. I have a very good side and am confident I can go the whole way.

Who at the Club do you most want to beat at seasons end?

Probably our Property Manager Hawkey (Ian Hawke - coach of ‘The Property Pirates’) because he never gives me new Club gear and is a very frustrating bloke.

Who at the Club has provided you with the most Dream Team assistance?

Craig ‘Fly’ McRae loves fantasy footy and I’ve gotten plenty of advice from him. He gave me a few handy pointers particularly early on when I first started selecting my team, but I have since well and truly gone it alone.
