Will Hamill was today elevated from the Brisbane Lions Rookie List to replace Daniel Bradshaw who has been placed on the Long Term Injury List.

A former captain of Queensland’s U18 side, Hamill was initially rookie listed by the Lions back in 2004 and has impressed with his efforts for the Suncoast Lions in the AFLQ as a defender / utility.

The lightly built Queenslander was re-drafted by the Lions in the 2006 Rookie Draft.

Hamill has already had a taste of senior AFL action having played in all four of the Lions’ 2007 NAB Cup matches including the Grand Final.

Still only lightly framed, Hamill is regarded as a late developer who could potentially mature into a great AFL player.

He is the third Lions rookie to be elevated this season behind Colm Begley and Daniel Dzufer.
