Hosted by the Shire of Augusta and Margaret River, the Thank a Volunteer Celebration welcomed volunteers to Gloucester Park to pay tribute to their generosity and celebrate the resilience of their community.
The event also provided an opportunity to fundraise for those who lost property and possessions, and the West Coast Eagles Football Club was proud to contribute a team signed guernsey, a framed 2006 premiership photo and a football signed by Nic Naitanui to the cause.
West Coast schools and community program co-ordinator Kim Hannah was invited to the event, having visited several schools in the south-west region this year through the club’s Eagles Rock My School program and everyone's favourite mascot, Rick the Rock, also tagged along.
“It was a great evening to thank the generous volunteers and acknowledge those who lost so much,” Hannah said.
“The club was very proud to be invited to, and involved with, such a worthy cause.”
