BRISBANE Lion Brendan Fevola says he is yet to speak to the club's hierarchy after it suspended him indefinitely.

Early this month, Fevola was stood down by the Lions when Queensland police launched an investigation into claims he allegedly acted inappropriately towards a woman at a non-club function.

The troubled forward said he had been in touch with Lions coach Michael Voss during his suspension but that no member of the board or administration had contacted him.

"They haven't spoken to me. I had lunch with Vossy before I came down (to Melbourne). Upstairs I haven't really spoken to," Fevola said on Channel Ten's Before The Game on Friday night.

But the 29-year-old said he was not concerned by the lack of communication.

"As a senior player said to me before I left ... directors direct, players play and coaches coach. I don't have to worry about what the directors and board think," he said.

"I think the directors of football clubs should worry about running the football club and let the players and coach play and coach footy."

Fevola, who kicked 48 goals from 17 games for the Lions this year, said he was recovering well from the groin surgery that brought a premature end to his campaign.

"It was a success, which is good. I tore the conjoint tendon off the bone and all the ligaments - everything on the right-hand side that was attached to the bone," he said.

"It was about a 16-17 week injury. It's been nine weeks now so I'm starting to get back into a bit of jogging and I start weights next week."

The former Blue said he bore no ill will towards the Lions for his suspension and was hopeful he would return to play out the remaining two years of his contract.

"I was really glad to go to Brisbane. It's a great club and a good bunch of boys. We started off [the season] well. We were 4-0. It didn't turn out too well after that," he said.

"We've got a pretty good list and hopefully we can play finals and make up for this year."

The Lions finished 13th on the AFL ladder after winning just three of their last 18 games.
