The Brisbane Lions AFC are pleased to announce that key defender Joel Patfull has re-signed with the Club.

Patfull has been an important part of the Lions' backline since being drafted to the Club from Norwood in South Australia with Pick No.56 in the 2005 National Draft.

He made his senior debut in Round 8 of 2006 against Port Adelaide - the club he had previously spent time with as a Rookie - and has since missed just four matches.

The 25 year-old adds a great deal of flexibility to the Lions' side considering he can effectively match-up against both tall and small forwards as well as play occasional roles both in attack and the midfield.

Patfull was named the Lions' Best Defender and Most Improved Player in 2008 and has finished among the top dozen in the Club Champion award in each of the past four seasons.
