FREMANTLE defender Antoni Grover will miss his side's remaining two games of season 2008 after undergoing shoulder surgery on Thursday.
The club said in statement that it was in Grover's best interests to have surgery now, giving him every opportunity to prepare for the 2009 pre-season.
Grover is expected to recover within 12 weeks.
The 27-year-old has played 17 games this season for a career total of 146, and had 24 possessions and five marks in Fremantle's 43-point loss to St Kilda last weekend.
He was left out in Thursday night's team selections, with Fremantle welcoming back experienced pair Des Headland and Josh Carr.
Fremantle is also waiting on a specialist's opinion to determine whether young backman Brock O'Brien requires surgery on a wrist he injured playing in the WAFL.
