Port Melbourne has announced VFL head coach Adam Skrobalak will stand down from his position at the conclusion of the 2024 Smithy's VFL season.

Skrobalak has led the Borough for the past three seasons after taking the reins from Gary Ayres at the conclusion of the 2021 season.

He joined the club following two stints in various roles across seven seasons with St Kilda, which was split by a term coaching Frankston in its return to the VFL in 2018.

The Board of the Port Melbourne Football Club (PMFC) wish to advise that VFL Head Coach Adam Skrobalak will stand down from his position at the conclusion of the 2024 VFL season.

Adam took on the Head Coach role in 2022 with a focus on rebuilding the list and program, he notified the club’s VFL Football Director of his resignation along with his wish to finish the 2024 season and this has been accepted.

“My family and I have decided to move to Queensland. I have loved my time at the Borough and I am proud of the work that has been done. I feel we have put a program in place that is built around professional standards and player development and will certainly help the group going forward” commented Skrobalak .

Port Melbourne Board Member and VFL Football Director Toby Pinwill thanked Adam for his commitment to the club.

“Adam will always be part of the Borough family and we thank him for his hard work and dedication over the past three seasons. We wish Adam and his family all the best”.

The recruitment process has already commenced for Adam’s replacement and an announcement will be made in due course.
