The 20 year-old collected 26 disposals and kicked a career-high three goals on his way to a team-high 129 Dream Team points.
Rich was one of only two Lions players to score a ‘ton’ against the Suns along with ruckman Matthew Leuenberger whose remarkable 52 hitouts helped him to 110 Dream Team points in his 50th AFL game.
Rich now ranks fifth overall among his Lions team-mates in total Dream Team points this season after accumulating 510 from his six games, with Jack Redden (646 points) and Tom Rockliff (643 points) maintaining their tight battle at the top.
In fact, it’s predominantly the younger crop of Lions who are dominating the individual Dream Team points rankings so far in 2011 with seven of the top nine positions filled by players aged 23 or under. The only ‘senior’ players among the current top nine are Jed Adcock and Simon Black - who are ranked third and fourth respectively.
Daniel Rich’s own compiled Dream Team ‘Richy’s Rockets’ also moved up 12 positions in the Lions’ Group to rank 199th among the 650+ registered teams.
However, he has lost further ground on Joel Patfull’s ‘Posse’ who remain the highest ranked team of the 10 Lions players participating in the competition.
Round 7 also saw a new overall leader in the Lions’ Dream Team Group with ‘albert proud ftw’ - coached by Nathan - moving into first place after scoring 2,073 points this week. Nathan’s side has been hovering the top for the past couple of weeks but has finally dethroned Adam’s ‘Spaceballs’ side who dropped to third.
Congratulations also to ‘The Jones Boys’ - coached by Campbell - whose Round 7 score of 2,123 was the highest among all registered teams in the Lions’ Group.
