Daniel Rich moves into the top 20 of the Official AFL Player Ratings
BRISBANE Lions midfielder Daniel Rich has moved into the top 20 in the Official AFL Player Ratings, brought to you by Vero, for the first time in his career after an impressive showing against Richmond.
Rich tallied 11 contested possessions, five inside-50s and five clearances in the Lions' 23-point loss to the Tigers at the MCG on Saturday.
His performance equated to 19.2 player ratings points and saw him rise from 22nd to 18th on the table.
Rich, who was 76th on the ratings table after round 12, has enjoyed a rapid rise since then, largely thanks to his lethal left boot.
Although he only averages 18.6 disposals per game, he is fourth in the competition for metres gained per kick this season.
The effort helped him jump 21 places on the ratings table to 178.
Hawthorn's Isaac Smith (20.3 points), Western Bulldogs forward Jarrad Grant (19.9) and Richmond midfielder Matt White (19.7) also registered the highest scores of their careers last weekend.
Sydney Swans co-captain Jarrad McVeigh (16th), Adelaide's Rory Sloane (23rd) and Geelong defender Corey Enright (33rd) are enjoying career-high standings on the ratings table.
Adelaide star Patrick Dangerfield, Geelong skipper Joel Selwood and Essendon captain Jobe Watson are unchanged in positions two, three and four.
Collingwood gun Scott Pendlebury's brilliant performance against the Sydney Swans has seen him jump back into the top five at the expense of Kieren Jack.
Hawthorn duo Lance Franklin and Jarryd Roughead remain the top-rated forwards.
Although West Coast big men Nic Naitanui and Shannon Hurn have not played in recent weeks, they are still the top-rated ruckman and defender.
