CARLTON will be without star forward Tayla Harris for Friday night's clash against the Western Bulldogs after she accepted a one-game ban for striking Brisbane defender Leah Kaslar. 

The incident, which occurred in the third term of their NAB AFL Women's clash on Saturday night, was assessed as intentional conduct with low impact to Kaslar's head.

The level of force was debatable and it could have been considered below the impact required to see a charge laid.

"Taking into account the medical report, the response from the victim player but also the look of the force, I decided that it was just enough to get to low impact," match review officer Michael Christian told AFL.com.au on Monday.

The AFL is in the midst of a crackdown on punching after several incidents occurred in the men's competition in 2017.

"Punching, we need to try and get out of the game," Christian said.

"It was a blatant, intentional strike, a blow that was delivered with force, which fits into the definition of striking."

Before their loss to the Lions, the Blues were already dealing with the loss of captain Brianna Davey, who succumbed to a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee sustained in round two. 

Adelaide's Dayna Cox was charged for two separate incidents, which occurred within seconds of each other, on star Western Bulldogs midfielders Ellie Blackburn and Emma Kearney.

She has accepted a one-match suspension for the striking incident on Kearney, which was assessed as intentional conduct with low impact to the head. 

Cox also accepted a reprimand for the Blackburn incident, which was graded as intentional conduct with low impact to the body.

Collingwood's Sophie Casey accepted a one-game ban for striking Greater Western Sydney's Cora Staunton in an incident the Giants suspect may have left the Irishwoman with a broken nose.

It was assessed as careless conduct with medium impact to the head.

Fremantle captain Kara Donnellan, fellow Docker Ashlee Atkins, Crow Jenna McCormick and Blue Katie Loynes all accepted reprimands.

Donnellan was charged with striking Melbourne's Aliesha Newman in an incident assessed as careless conduct with low impact to the head. 

Atkins was found to have engaged in rough conduct with Ashleigh Guest, which was assessed as careless conduct with low impact to the head.

McCormick was charged with making forceful contact from front-on on Bulldog Hannah Scott, graded as careless conduct with low impact to the head.

Loynes was charged with engaging in rough conduct against Brisbane's Arianna Clarke, which was assessed as careless conduct with low impact to the head. 

A match day report on Collingwood's Brittany Bonnici for kneeing Rebecca Beeson from the Giants was thrown out for being below the force required.
