BY NOW, a form line has been well and truly established in the Draftstars fraternity. But picking that final team is still a challenge. Here's our cheat sheet for round 17. For more information, visit draftstars.com.au.

St Kilda v Essendon, Etihad Stadium, Friday night

We like to start the Draftstars weekend off with a shot in the 'turbo' form of the game, so here are our six players from this clash we're backing to take home the win. Remember, in the 'turbo' version of daily fantasy, we pick one player from six categories, with no salary cap.

Saint Seb Ross (MID, $14,600) scored 134 points last week – his 11th century of the season, so we're going with him in tier one, while consistent ex-Saint and now Bomber Brendon Goddard (MID, $14,250) is our tier two choice. David Zaharakis' (MID, $13,100) form continued last week with 121 points and he's our pick in the third rung.

Darcy Parish (FWD/MID, $11,950) played one of his best games last week for the Dons with 28 disposals and 114 points to lift his average to 81 for the year so gets the nod in the fourth tier, while zippy Saint Jack Sinclair (FWD/MID, $10,700) seems the best bet in tier five.

We're going to round out the side with exciting Bomber Orazio Fantasia (FWD, $10,150), who looks back to his early season form after a five-goal and 84-point haul against Collingwood last week.

Geelong v Hawthorn, MCG, Saturday

It's nice to have plenty of ruck options and Ben McEvoy (RK, $12,100) is one worth considering. His 117-point score for the Hawks last week pushed his average to 93 for the season. His scoring consistency has been excellent.

The same can be said for Tom Mitchell (MID, $17,650), who powered to another triple figure score last week in his side's draw with GWS. The former Swan hasn't dipped below 100 all year in an amazing run at his new club. Draftstars coaches are united in their praise (and thanks).

Geelong's stars pounded the Brisbane Lions last week, including a huge 150-point monster from Brownlow medallist Patrick Dangerfield (MID, $18,400). But it was the 120 points from Mark Blicavs (MID/RK, $12,950) which took the eye. Blicavs has struggled without being 'third man up' this year, averaging 77, but it was a dominant game last week.

In his 150th game, Mitch Duncan (MID, $14,900) again underlined his star factor with 128 points. He's in the top-10 for total points this season, making him a top-end pick.

Port Adelaide v North Melbourne, Adelaide Oval, Saturday

Patrick Ryder (FWD/RK, $14,000) is having some kind of season. The former Bomber was rubbed out for 2016, but has bounced back strongly and last week gathered 135 points in Port's win over West Coast. He is averaging 90 for the year and 99 the past five weeks. Have a think about getting him in, even as a forward.

Dan Houston (FWD/DEF, $10,500) continues to outperform his price tag. The versatile young Power defender scored 91 last week, following his 101 points the week before. He could be worth some consideration as one of your final selections if you can't afford a big name.

Jack Ziebell (MID, $13,750) led from the front with 120 points for North against Fremantle last week, while the best Draftstars Roo, Shaun Higgins (FWD/MID, $12,700), picked up 114 points in his best score since round six. His consistency has been strong and he was bound for a rise after a lowly effort of 74 points in round 15.

Todd Goldstein (RK, $14,150) missed the match-winning shot but still went well from a Draftstars perspective with 99 points, and Luke McDonald (DEF, $11,400) also managed another score in the 90s after 106 points in round 15. He's in good form.

Gold Coast v Collingwood, Metricon Stadium, Saturday

The battle of the AFL's under pressure coaches should feel familiar for us who play Draftstars as every week feels like it's make or break. In that case, you go with what you know, which should include by now the fact Jarryd Lyons (FWD/MID, $14,400) is a prolific scorer. The Suns midfielder gathered 113 points last week and is in the top-25 for the competition this season.

Fellow recruit Jarrod Witts (RK, $13,300) continues to shine for the Suns after scoring 110 last week in the club's loss to the Swans, while David Swallow (MID, $13,250) showed he can recapture his best scoring with 107 points. Aside from Gary Ablett (MID $16,650), there aren't many other trust-worthy Suns from a Draftstars point of view.

Collingwood had few winners against Essendon, with Steele Sidebottom (MID, $15,850) the only Magpie to pass the 100-point barrier. There aren't many as consistent as him. Jamie Elliott (FWD, $12,050) scored 98 against the Bombers and was really dangerous,

Some of the Pies' big guns really struggled last week, including Adam Treloar (MID, $14,350), who managed just 57 points in a season low. He should respond so don't lose your faith.

Greater Western Sydney v Sydney, Spotless Stadium, Saturday

Star midfielder Josh Kelly (MID, $14,750) was back to his best last week with 136 points in the Giants' draw with Hawthorn, with Callan Ward's (MID, $15,550) 138-point effort the only Giant to better it. Kelly's a rock solid choice and averages 25 more points a game than Ward, so looks a better fit.

We have had our reservations about Jonathon Patton (FWD, $12,150) as a Draftstars option but we have to concede he's worth a shot now. The power forward's past three weeks – 133 points, then 93 then 108 last week – make him the in-form forward of the competition.

Luke Parker's (MID, $15,600) run of form continued last week with his third straight century, while Lance Franklin's (FWD, $14,150) season average crept up to 96 points with his 108-point effort. After all these years 'Buddy' remains one of the go-to Draftstars forwards in the competition.

At Franklin's feet is Tom Papley (FWD, $11,850), whose 81 points last week met his season average and continued his solid form. Gary Rohan's (FWD, $9300) 110 points made him the third-highest scoring Swan but don't go there – his average of 57 suggests his chances of passing triple figures again are slim.

Melbourne v Adelaide, Darwin, Saturday

In two of the first three games this season, Alex Neal-Bullen (FWD/MID, $9700) reached triple figures. His average after five rounds was 99.4 and he seemed destined to be a Draftstars dream given his price. The young Dee struggled to maintain that form, but regained it last week with 92 points against Carlton – his best total since round five.

Neal-Bullen is a slight risk but relatively cheap. Clayton Oliver (MID, $14,050), with an average of 102 points, is the opposite. Last week he was the only Dee to get to 100, so he's a pretty solid bet despite only being in his second AFL season.

The Crows have plenty of options for coaches, across all positions. In defence Rory Laird (DEF, $13,700) is a top pick, and last week gathered 135 points. In attack, Josh Jenkins (FWD, $12,900) is back in touch and last week scored 111, while the midfield is stacked with quality scorers.

Brad Crouch (MID, $15,500), Matt Crouch (MID, $14,450), Rory Atkins (MID, $11,700) and Rory Sloane (MID, $14,150) all broke through the 100-point barrier in last week's win over the Western Bulldogs. Sloane was back to some of his best against the Dogs and could be over his form lull.

Richmond v Brisbane Lions, Etihad Stadium, Sunday

It was a dirty night for the Tigers last week against St Kilda, and an even worse one for Draftstars coaches with a yellow-and-black featured line-up. Shaun Grigg's (MID, $14,300) 124 points was the only highlight, although Kane Lambert (FWD/MID, $13,900) continued his good form to push his average to 120 points in the past three rounds.

Dustin Martin (FWD/MID, $15,600) and Trent Cotchin (MID, $13,800) combined for only 140 points (not far off Martin's 112-point average), while Dion Prestia (MID, $11,300) managed only 54 points in a disappointing display. We expect the Tigers to bounce back but still wouldn't run with Prestia until his form turns around.

Form didn't evade Dayne Zorko (MID, $15,850) last week, with the Brisbane Lions jet scoring a huge 181 points against Geelong. Zorko is in the top four for total points this season, and it was the third time for the year he has surpassed 150 points. That takes something special. Get him while he's hot.

Alex Witherden's (MID/DEF, $11,150) third game again showed his ability to find the ball, with another 82-point effort, while fellow first-year Lion Jarrod Berry (MID/DEF, $9050) scored 82 points. Dayne Beams (MID, $15,000) scored just 71 upon return from his shoulder injury but should be better for the run this week.

Carlton v Western Bulldogs, MCG, Sunday

What a season it has been for Sam Docherty (DEF, $17,350). He's on track for his first Virgin Australia AFL All Australian jumper, and for legendary Draftstars status after his 152 points last week. Docherty is now ranked as the second-best player in the competition and is worth every dollar.

There's plenty of strong Blues to choose. Marc Murphy (MID, $15,500) racked up a more-than-handy 132 points last week against the Dees, while Rising Star nominee Charlie Curnow (FWD, $10,900) is showing his special attributes. He collected 112 points last week and is averaging 96 over the past three weeks.

There's less to love from the Western Bulldogs. But we did hint that Toby McLean (FWD, $13,050) was due for more time in the midfield, and he delivered with 127 points last week against Adelaide. Jack Macrae (MID, $16,000) was the only other Dog to pass 100.

Jake Stringer (FWD, $9050) and Tom Liberatore (MID, $11,500) continue to struggle, as does Jason Johannisen (DEF, $10,200). All three could only muster scores in the 50s against the Crows, so it's best to steer clear of them despite their handsome Draftstars CVs from the past.

Fremantle v West Coast, Domain Stadium, Sunday

It's been a breakout year for Connor Blakely (MID, $13,600). After missing round 15 for his surfing indiscretion, the Freo midfielder struck back with a season-high 135 points last week against North Melbourne in a dogged effort. His average is now 92 for the year.

Michael Walters (FWD, $13,950) continued on his merry way with another 116 points against the Roos, lifting his average to 110 over the past five rounds. Young ruckman Sean Darcy (RK, $11,700) also continues to be a great value-for-money choice from Fremantle.

West Coast's best scorers last week were Elliot Yeo (FWD/MID, $12,950) and Liam Duggan (FWD/MID, $9300), who managed just 86 points each. It was a limp performance from the Eagles at home against Port Adelaide, so hopefully they can lift this Sunday for the local derby.

The Eagles are a hard team to trust, even from a Draftstars point of view. Matt Priddis (MID, $13,550) scored just 74 points, Jack Darling (FWD, $10,300) dropped back to 73, and Sam Mitchell (MID, $12,550) could scrape together just 78. Avoid.
