SYDNEY has effectively ruled out bidding on gun onballer Tom Green at pick No.5 in the first round of Wednesday night's NAB AFL Draft, paving the way for him to slide down the order.
Green is poised to land at Greater Western Sydney as a member of the club's Academy.

It had long been thought the Swans would bid on Green but draft guru Cal Twomey precited in his Phantom Draft on Monday that wouldn't happen.
Sydney recruiting and list manager Kinnear Beatson confirmed that on AFL.com.au's Draft Night Countdown on Tuesday when asked if his club would bid on Green.
"Probably not, I don't think," Beatson said.
Beatson explained why the Swans wouldn't try to land Green, who seems a natural fit for a club that could do with more midfield talent.
"We might take a different type of midfielder. I'm not into bidding for any Academy or NGA (Next Generation Academy) player for the sake of trying to get another club to match," Beatson said.

"If that was the player that we wanted, we would bid for them, but we would prefer to call the name of the player that we want and that we'd get, so that's what we'll do."
Giants recruiting manager Adrian Caruso revealed his club originally expected Sydney to bid for Green.
"It has changed because two weeks ago we were expecting it to come at five, but since we've done the deal to get up to four, it sounds like more of the talk is he might slide down the order," Caruso said.
GWS originally packaged picks 12 and 18 in a deal with St Kilda to land No.6, before sending that to Adelaide, in conjunction with a future first-round selection, for Adelaide's pick No.4.
Green was ranked as the third-best prospect in the country in the November edition of Twomey's Phantom Form Guide, which ranks the players without considering at which clubs they might land.
