THE AFL has funded researchers from the School of Human Movement and Sports Science at Federation University Australia to conduct a survey to better understand the lower limb injury prevention knowledge, attitudes and behaviours of Australian football coaches.
Although funded by the AFL, this project is being conducted independently by the researchers and the AFL will have no influence on the outcomes.
The results of the research will be used to develop training and coaching resources and to improve the way injury prevention and safety information is passed on to coaches. Ultimately, we hope to encourage safety and reduce injury risk while maximising player performance, participation and enjoyment.
Click here to open up the survey.
At the start of the survey you will find a link to a Plain Language Information Statement (PLIS) which outlines the types of questions contained in the survey, why you are being asked to participate, the risks involved in participating and your options to withdraw from participation at any time. A copy of the PLIS can also be viewed here.
The research team, together with the AFL, encourages you to read the PLIS and make an informed decision about participating in the survey. Contact details for members of the research team are included in the PLIS if you have any questions about the project.
Your participation in the research is completely voluntary and the AFL has no way of knowing who has or has not responded to the survey. All responses will be anonymous and there will be no consequences or repercussions if you choose not to participate.
The survey will take less than 30 minutes to complete.
As a football coach your participation in the survey would be greatly appreciated.
