People & Culture Coordinator
(Parental Leave Contract)
The Western Bulldogs, as one of the 18 clubs of the Australian Football League (AFL) and situated in the fastest growing region of Australia, is breaking new ground in delivering sustainable, high level performance. An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic HR Generalist to join the Western Bulldogs on an 11 month Parental Leave contract. This position will report directly to the new General Manager, People & Culture.
You will be responsible for providing support in the coordination of the people and culture function and the delivery of high quality, cost effective human resource programs and services applicable to our growing workforce at the Western Bulldogs.
The People & Culture Coordinator will be responsible for the following:
- Ensuring all Human Resources Policies and Procedures are maintained and kept up-to-date and that all documents and practices are aligned with legislation and policy obligations and priorities;
- Assisting with the coordination of all aspects of the HR function including recruitment, induction and general employment contract administration;
- Ensuring employee data is up to data, complete and in accordance with the needs of a changing Club;
- Assisting in the coordination of the Annual Performance Review and evaluation process; Coordinating contracts for Contractors, Volunteers, Honorariums and all other placements as required;
- Assisting with the updating and coordination of the Clubs on boarding and training needs analysis for all Employees;
- Coordinating staff certifications and compliance requirements;
- Assisting with the coordination of Car Parking and Building Maintenance/Security procedures;
- Participating in the OHS committee and championing Risk Management;
- Assisting in the coordination of the Victoria University Cadetship program;
- Assisting with the development, implementation and evaluation of an annual Employee Climate Survey:
- Coordinating of HR projects as required
To be considered for this role you must hold a relevant tertiary qualification and have one to three years’ experience in Human Resources. It is also expected that you will have a solid understanding of employment law, relevant legislation and awards. The successful candidate will be a strong team player, a drive for excellence, great attention to detail, highly organised and have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills.
This role is required to have flexible working hours, including some nights and weekend work. In particular you are expected to attend Western Bulldogs home games and events.
