2 IMPENDING MILESTONES

300 games – Scott Thompson, Adelaide Crows. Scott is set to become the 75th player in VFL/AFL history to reach 300 games and the fourth this season, following on from Nick Riewoldt, Shaun Burgoyne and Drew Petrie. Most Club Games – Leigh Montagna, St Kilda. Leigh is due to play his 265th game this week, drawing level with Gary Colling in eighth position in the club’s history. The most games in St Kilda history are Robert Harvey (383 games, 1988-2008), Nathan Burke (323 games, 1987-2003), Stewart Loewe (321 games, 1986-2002), Nick Riewoldt (312 games, 2001 - current), Barry Breen (300 games, 1965-82), Lenny Hayes (297 games, 1999-2014), Stephen Milne (275 games, 2001-13), Gary Colling (265 games, 1968-81), Leigh Montagna (264 games, 2002 - current), Nick Dal Santo (260 games, 2002-13).

The most games as Sydney / South Melbourne captain are Paul Kelly (182 games, 1993-2002), Bob Skilton (165 games, 1959-71), Dennis Carroll (131 games, 1986-92), Jarrad McVeigh (130 games, 2011 – current) and Brett Kirk (119 games, 2005-10).

Most club games captain – Joel Selwood, Geelong Cats. Joel is due to captain Geelong for the 110th time in his career, drawing level with Ian Nankervis in third spot in club history. The most games as Geelong captain are Reg Hickey (142 games, 1930-40), Henry Young (137 games, 1903-09), Ian Nankervis (110 games, 1973-83), Joel Selwood (109 games, 2011 - current) and Bill Goggin (84 games, 1968-71).

450 career goals – Eddie Betts, Adelaide Crows. Eddie needs five goals to reach 450 career goals since his debut in 2005.

3 TRIBUNAL MATCH REVIEW PROCESS

The expected process for the 2016 AFL Season under the AFL Match Review system is that the AFL will issue a media release late on the Monday after each round detailing the penalties to be offered to players for incidents from that round of matches, or the reasons why no further action was to be taken.

The clubs and players then have until 11am on the Tuesday morning to decide whether to accept the penalty on offer, or whether they wish to contest the charge at a Tribunal hearing, to usually be held on the Tuesday night. The AFL will formally detail all instances on the Tuesday of whether cases will proceed to the Tribunal or not.

Lachie Weller, Fremantle, reported by umpire Andrew Mitchell for making forceful contact from front-on against Jayden Hunt, Melbourne, during the third quarter of the Round 16 match between Fremantle and Melbourne, played at TIO Stadium on Saturday July 9, 2016.

Levi Casboult, Carlton, reported by umpire Curtis Deboy for striking Kyle Hartigan, Adelaide Crows, during the second quarter of the Round 16 match between Carlton and the Adelaide Crows, played at the MCG on Sunday July 10, 2016.

4 TRIBUNAL HEARING LOCATION

The AFL Tribunal is held in the AFL media room on Level LB2 at Etihad Stadium. The AFL wishes to advise that all media covering the Tribunal hearings at Etihad Stadium need to park in the B2 car park (entry off the Bourke St extension) and report to the Etihad Stadium security office to gain admittance via the internal ring road. There will be no access via AFL House to any AFL Tribunal hearing through the season, as our offices will have closed by 6pm each day. 

5  CURRENTLY SUSPENDED PLAYERS

The AFL wishes to advise the players that have completed and currently serving MRP suspensions across the competition are as follows: 

Completed:

Tom Jonas, Port Adelaide. Six matches from round nine.

David Zaharakis, Essendon. One match from round 15.

Mark Jamar, Essendon, One match from round 15.

6 APPLICATIONS FOR DAY PASSES FOR AFL MATCHES

The AFL wishes to advise it has updated its system for the production of day passes for late accreditation applications to cover single matches during the Toyota AFL premiership season. Day passes are now printed with a headshot, meaning any application must be lodged by Wednesday 5pm in the week of the match being requested, with a suitable headshot. 7 NOMINATED ROOKIE PROMOTIONS

The AFL wishes to advise the following players have been promoted to the senior list under the various provisions of the rookie rules:

8 LONG TERM INJURY LIST 

The AFL wishes to advise the following recent changes have been made to player lists, via the long-term injury list rules:

Brisbane Lions have upgraded Rueben William from the rookie list as the replacement for Dayne Beams, who was already on the long-term injury list.

Carlton has placed Ciaran Byrne on the long-term injury list with no replacement named from the rookie list at this time.

Essendon has placed Mark Baguley on the long-term injury list with no replacement named from the rookie list at this time.

Fremantle have upgraded Josh Deluca from the rookie list as the replacement for Alex Pearce, who was already on the long-term injury list.

Sydney Swans have upgraded Jordan Foote from the rookie list as the replacement for Kurt Tippett, who was already on the long-term injury list.

12 SIMONDS STADIUM MEDIA ACCESS DURING REDEVELOPMENT 

For all matches at Simonds Stadium this season, during the Brownlow Stand re-development, enclosed, flat footwear must be worn. Please note that the construction area, behind the temporary benches, is a closed area under site rules while play is underway during all matches. 

13 MEDIA ENTRY TO THE MCG

The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) wishes to advise all media working at matches at the MCG they should enter the ground through Gate 3, unless they have underground parking for particular matches. Access control at the ground does not allow entry at Gate 2, for AFL accreditation passes. Further, the MCC also wishes to advise that any equipment being taken up to the host radio boxes or television broadcast boxes should be taken up via goods lift 8, and not the patron lifts 5-7.

14 MEDIA ENTRY TO ETIHAD STADIUM, PRIOR TO PUBLIC GATE TIMES / COLLECTION OF AFL RECORDS

All media who require entry to Etihad Stadium before public gates are open can do the following: Media may enter via Gate 9 from Level B3 (carpark) and Level 1 (concourse) one and a half hours prior to gate entry time. There will be a staff member at each entry point who will check AFL accreditation and will grant access to the Corporate Suites Level where they can access the Press Box, Radio Boxes and TV Broadcast area. A match day AFL record can be collected (one per person) from the customer service staff on the corporate suites level.
