An outstanding opportunity has become available for an experienced Finance Manager to join the Gold Coast SUNS on a maternity leave contract in 2017.
The role offers the opportunity to work in the AFL and sports industry with one of the largest employers on the Gold Coast.
As Finance Manager you will be responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of financial and management accounts.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this role is also responsible for the supervision and development of our Assistant Accountant and Accounts Officer.
The Finance Manager will be responsible for:
- Managing the day to day accounts payable and accounts receivable functions;
- Preparing monthly management accounts from general ledger through to final versions of the profit & loss and balance sheet;
- Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and rectifying differences;
- Managing the completion of the weekly KPI dashboard;
- Managing the completion of various external compliance requirements including GST and FBT; and
- Assisting with quarterly forecasts and the annual budget.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A strong personal brand which personifies the GCFC values of bold, fresh, relentless, dependable and community;
- CA / CPA qualified and a minimum of 3 to 5 years of management and / or financial accounting experience within the operations of a medium to large size organisation;
- Demonstrated experience in complying with deadlines and accounting policies & procedures;
- Good understanding of the commercial aspects of the finance function;
- Strong analytical and reporting skills;
- High level of written and verbal communication skills;
- The flexibility to work home games during the season; and
- Understanding of AFL / sporting environment (desirable).
