THE SHACKLES were off and an avalanche of goals resulted in the last round of the home and away season, with St Kilda captain Nick Riewoldt leading the way in the AFL's Team of the Week, brought to you by Accor Hotels.
Riewoldt turned in a vintage performance against the Brisbane Lions at Etihad Stadium as the Saints finished their year on a high, with the veteran bagging himself an equal career-best nine goals.
Elsewhere, Coleman medallist Josh Kennedy and the runner-up, Sydney Swans star Lance Franklin, also piled on the goals while fellow Swan Ben McGlynn, Greater Western Sydney veteran Steve Johnson and Port Adelaide's Robbie Gray were all outstanding.
West Coast ruckman Jonathan Giles is this week's surprise packet, with teammate Tom Barrass, St Kilda's Dylan Roberton, Fremantle defender Garrick Ibbotson and Essendon top-up player Matt Dea other unfamiliar faces to make the 22.
TOM BARRASS (West Coast)
Earned himself the year's final NAB Rising Star nomination with a resolute game against Adelaide, where he took 10 marks in the Eagles' crucial win.
HEATH GRUNDY (Sydney Swans)
Not even a starring role in the Swans' thumping of Richmond could attract the attention of All Australian selectors, but Grundy was supreme in the air with nine marks, four of those contested.
GARRICK IBBOTSON (Fremantle)
Finished off the season in style with 29 disposals, 14 marks, and five rebound 50s against the Western Bulldogs, to farewell retiring great Matthew Pavlich.
DYLAN ROBERTON (St Kilda)
The rebounding defender had 23 touches at 95 per cent efficiency, eight rebound 50s, and four goals assists in the Saints' big win over the Lions.
HARRY TAYLOR (Geelong)
The West Australian used his experience to cut off plenty of Melbourne's forward entries, and finished the day with nine marks and 20 possessions.
MATT DEA (Essendon)
One of the Bombers' most impressive top-up players this season, the former Tiger had 27 disposals against Carlton, as well as 10 marks and seven rebound 50s.
STEPHEN HILL (Fremantle)
The Dockers' speedster had 30 touches at 83 per cent efficiency against the Dogs, to go with four tackles, four rebound 50s and a goal.
JOSH KENNEDY (Sydney Swans)
Another inside-footy clinic from Kennedy, who had 37 possessions, 19 of them contested, and eight clearances against the Tigers, while also adding two goals.
ANDREW GAFF (West Coast)
Followed up last week's 38 touches against Hawthorn with an even better night against the Crows, racking up a career-high 41 to help the Eagles seal a home final.
ROBBIE GRAY (Port Adelaide)
One of the few consistent contributors for Port Adelaide this year, the gun onballer kicked four goals, had 34 disposals, and six clearances against Gold Coast.
NICK RIEWOLDT (St Kilda)
The 33-year-old had a day out against the Lions, gathering 26 possessions, 21 marks and booting nine goals. Riewoldt took 12 marks and kicked three majors in the second quarter alone.
BEN McGLYNN (Sydney Swans)
Sealed his spot in the minor premiers' team for their first final with five goals and two goal assists, plus eight inside 50s from his 20 touches.
LANCE FRANKLIN (Sydney Swans)
Warmed up for the finals with seven goals and 11 marks, nine of them inside 50 against Richmond, opposed to All Australian defender Alex Rance for most of the night.
JOSH KENNEDY (West Coast)
Another five goals for the big Eagle saw him finish the season with a second straight Coleman Medal, and 80 goals, the same total he registered last year with the finals still to come.
STEVE JOHNSON (Greater Western Sydney)
The big-game performer tuned up for the Giants' first September campaign with four goals against North Melbourne, which included a couple of gems.
JONATHAN GILES (West Coast)
Stepped up in the absence of injured star Nic Naitanui in just his third game this season, and 12th in the past three years, to get the better of Adelaide big man Sam Jacobs.
PATRICK DANGERFIELD (Geelong)
The Brownlow favourite likely finished the season with another three votes, after gathering 32 touches, 17 of them contested, 10 clearances, six goal assists, and an incredible 16 inside 50s.
SCOTT PENDLEBURY (Collingwood)
The Magpies captain had 30 disposals at 83 per cent efficiency, and added six clearances, six tackles and five inside 50s against the Hawks.
ZACH MERRETT (Essendon)
The young gun capped off a fantastic season, in which he's the raging favourite to take out Essendon's best and fairest, with 34 possessions and six clearances.
JOEL SELWOOD (Geelong)
The skipper picked up 36 possessions, 16 of them contested, and added eight inside 50s, six clearances and a goal against the Demons.
LUKE SHUEY (West Coast)
The star midfielder racked up another 31 possessions against the Crows, as well as eight tackles, six inside 50s and four clearances.
DEVON SMITH (Greater Western Sydney)
After missing plenty of footy this year, Smith showed he's going to be an important player during the finals with 23 possessions, five inside 50s and two goals.
