THE BYES are over and as head-to-head matches resume, NAB AFL Fantasy coaches are all about getting those wins needed over the next six weeks before finals.
Almost everything is back to normal this week. Default leagues will have match-ups and we are fielding 22 players again with no pesky blue bye dots on our guns who are having the week off.
The only other thing outside of our regular Fantasy routine is another Thursday night game. As we did with the last two weeks, make sure you have the players from tonight’s Sydney Swans v Port Adelaide game all sorted. That is, trades, emergencies, captains, etc. all locked away before the ball bounces at 7.20pm AEST.
Unless you’re trading a Swan or Port player in or out, then you can pretty much relax before the Friday full lockout.
The biggest issues facing coaches this week involve what to do with the suspended Lance Franklin. With just one week on the sidelines, using bench cover is the simple solution but a chunk of his 27 per cent of owners are looking to trade the Swan.
The highest scoring ruckman this season, Stefan Martin, faces two weeks out of the game through suspension. The beauty is that he can be traded to any ruck with Todd Goldstein and Sam Jacobs the most popular options. Some are holding him and playing Essendon’s current No.1 big man Shaun McKernan.
Whatever choice you make with your trades this week, be sure to think long term, always with the aim to make your team better in preparation for finals.
