JORDAN Cunico will become the fourth player to battle for the final place on Carlton's list, with the ex-Geelong midfielder invited to train with the club ahead of the 2020 season.
Cunico joins former Richmond forward Callum Moore, overlooked draft prospect Ryan Sturgess and ex-Western Bulldogs defender Lukas Webb as the quartet of players searching for a spot on the club's list as a pre-season supplemental selection period (SSP) signing.
The speedy 23-year-old was delisted by the Cats at the end of last season, having managed only 15 senior games for the club across five seasons at GMHBA Stadium.
He had previously agreed to play for Carlton's VFL affiliate side the Northern Blues this season, but will now vie for a second chance on an AFL list over the coming weeks.
The Blues have a spot available within their squad after moving first-round draftee Brodie Kemp to the long-term injury list, with the versatile youngster likely to miss the majority of the season having ruptured his ACL last July.
Clubs are eligible to sign players under the SSP rule until March 13. They are also able to leave spots available on their lists ahead of the NAB AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft, which is this year expected to be held after round 11.
