Who do you pick first (L-R)? Patrick Dangerfield, Nat Fyfe, Dustin Martin, Brodie Grundy

EVERY year AFL players are valued and ranked.

>> THIS EVENT IS OVER

AFL.com.au journalists Cal Twomey, Marc McGowan, Mitch Cleary and Riley Beveridge are going to do it again – but in a different format.

On Tuesday at 1pm AEST on AFL.com.au's Facebook page, all four will put their expertise and biases on the line to each select a team of 22 from active AFL footballers in a live draft, with a maximum of 30 seconds per pick.

Live trading is not an option on this occasion.

The scenario is simple: your team is playing a game this weekend, so potential and upside largely go out the window in favour of a 'win-now' policy.

Footballers will be chosen according to a snake order, meaning, for example, the person with the first pick will also have the eighth and ninth.

Individual strategy will be interesting, including which player is crowned the most valuable right now with the No.1 pick.

Should you load up on blue-chip midfielders, or nab a key-position superstar early? How important are ruckmen? Will Brisbane defender Harris Andrews or Giants spearhead Jeremy Cameron be taken first?

Which coach will try to emulate Richmond's mosquito fleet in attack? Or will someone recreate Hawthorn's success with a side full of sweet-kicking left-footers?

You, the readers, can watch it all happen live on the AFL's Facebook page – including the reactions, facial expressions and squirming as picks are made – and can support, sledge (keep it clean) or offer advice.

Post-draft, readers can pour over every coach's analysis of their own team and why they made certain selections, then vote on which squad is the best.

There will also be a light-hearted podcast devoted to the virtual draft, available to listen to on AFL.com.au's Footy Feed channel.
