The Western Bulldogs and Williamstown are now guaranteed of finishing in the top four in their respective competitions. Some might say it could be easy to take your eye off the ball as we prepare for September action. Luckily for Guy O’Keefe, Jarrad Grant and I we have something away from football to concentrate on.

The three of us have decided to move in into a house together. We went through the process of applying for a rental property and we’ve been offered the first place we applied for in Williamstown. Yesterday we payed our bond and we move in to the house next week.

The thought of having our own place is really exciting. The house has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a big kitchen and an outdoor area to put a BBQ on. I’m easily the best cook out of us all so I have already said I will do most of the cooking - Jarrad and Guy can do the cleaning up! The only disappointment was that Jarrad got the master bedroom with the ensuite. And no it’s not because he was the highest draft pick last year, we tossed a coin and he won it fairly and squarely.

We have got all of the main essentials, a TV, fridge and couch, which is good because it means we won’t have to go to Ikea to buy anything. A few of the other boys have offered to donate some second hand items as well so we should fit right in. The only thing they haven’t offered is to help us move in. I’ll keep asking at training this week.

Back on the field we have a big game against Port Melbourne this weekend in the VFL. They are a game behind us in third on the ladder and are in good form. The game will be like a mini-final so it will give us a good indication of what we need to improve on going into the latter part of the season.

Personally I’m hoping for another good performance. My goal is still to play an AFL game this year. It would be a dream come true if I could make my debut against the Lions in Brisbane in front of family and friends in a couple of week’s time. I’ll keep my fingers crossed and keep working hard in the VFL at Williamstown!
