“I think we’re going to surprise a lot of teams this year. I think we’re an underrated side, and I think we’re going to come out this year and have a really big impact,” he said on Friday.
Mumford and housemate Lewis Jetta will both make their debut in the red and white guernsey as they run out against the Saints at ANZ Stadium. Mumford urged the Swans faithful to turn out in force to support their team’s newest recruits.
“I’m really excited, can’t wait to get out there and amongst the new boys. A couple of us are making our debut for Sydney this weekend, so it’ll be great to see as many fans out there to see us as possible.”
In the event of a win, the red and white army might also need to sing the Club song a little louder than usual, with Mumford admitting many of the new players might not be up to scratch when it comes to the lyrics.
“I didn’t know the song at first! But it was sent out in the membership packs, so I pretty quickly read through it and I’ve got it down-pat now. There are a lot of new blokes playing though, so there could be a few standing around miming it!” Mumford joked.
