Swallow (wrist) and Ziebell (knee) will have to pass fitness tests to take on the Blues, along with key defender Lachlan Hansen (concussion), key forward Robbie Tarrant (knee) and half-back Aaron Mullett.
North medical services director Steve Saunders said he was confident Swallow, who required strapping to his wrist against the Lions, would take on Carlton, while Ziebell's knee had recovered well since Saturday night.
"Jack just copped bumps and bruises really. He received a knee to the inside of his knee so he's got a big bruise there but he's all fine," Saunders told nmfc.com.au.
Hansen and Mullett appear most in doubt to take on Carlton.
Hansen copped a knock to the head shortly after the opening bounce against the Lions and had to be assisted from the ground by trainers, while Mullett injured his ankle.
Saunders said the Roos would closely monitor the pair in the lead-up to Friday night's game.
"[Hansen's] testing today and yesterday was really good so we'll slowly progress his training loads throughout the week and re-test him and hope he's right for the game," Saunders said.
"He was out running around and marking today. He'll do a modified version of training ...
"[Mullett's] ankle was forced into a plantar-flexed or pointed position, so he stretched some tissues at the front and he jammed up some tissues at the back.
"We'll test him at the end of the week."
Saunders said Tarrant had hyperextended his knee against the Lions but had shown no signs of swelling or pain at training on Monday.
"His knee is all good," Saunders said.
