A brand new unique opportunity has arisen for a highly-motivated, innovative individual with a background community engagement and health awareness to join the Western Bulldogs Football Club.  The program Sons of the West is a new Western Bulldogs free men’s health initiative which aims to improve the health of men living and working in Melbourne’s West.

The role of Sons of the West Program Coordinator will assist the Sons of the West Program Manager to deliver the program effectively, liaise with key partners including local government and participants to maximise the success of the program.

Suitable applicants will be able to assist in the implementation of the program and development of resources for the project to achieve desired program outcomes while in-turn maximising brand recognition opportunities for the Western Bulldogs. 

The successful applicant should demonstrate abilities of being able to support development and implementation of the program communications and sourcing communications content that also creates key linkages between project stakeholders including program partners & councils across Melbourne’s Western Region, local WRFL clubs and community organisations.

It would be expected that the successful applicant would be able to demonstrate some of the following key duties and responsibilities:

  • Support in the provision of guidance and ongoing support for all activities conducted through the program, while assisting in the development and implementation of week to week sessions related to the program and associated promotional events.
  • Help lead the implementation process of the program with a strong emphasis on local government partners.
  • Adhere to the program budgets standards and procedures.
  • Assist in execution and delivery of the project engagement process.
  • Provide continuous feedback to all stakeholders on all aspects of the program.
  • Support and supervision to the program participants ensuring they remain actively engaged.
  • Contribute to the development of relevant and successful of engagement initiatives.
  • Develop systems to ensure registration of interest, enrolment and monitoring participant engagement.

The successful applicant will be degree qualified in Applied Sciences and/or Public Health services.  Have a minimum two years program operations experience and demonstrated abilities in program development, implementation, evaluation and reporting.  Experience of stakeholder engagement, negotiation and relationship management.  Frequently think outside the square, thrive on working under pressure, highly organised and motivated, have excellent time management skills and a proven ability to work to tight deadlines.
