Hawthorn President, Jeff Kennett, reflect on a performance which he describes as one of determination, grit and great collective effort.

"True Grit" is the best way I can describe the tenacity of our team on Saturday.

A great team effort, where we never gave up, and some wonderful personal efforts.

It was of course a must win for the Club. With 3 games left of the home and away series, our performance will determine our final spot on the ladder. As we approach the end of the season, each game is going to be a real individual test of our skills and determination.

This week we head back to Aurora to compete with Port Adelaide. It will not be an easy outing with both teams looking to cement their place in the final 8.

What has impressed me over the last few weeks has been the growing turnout of Hawthorn members and supporters attending our games and vocally supporting our team. It makes a great deal of difference to our players to know, and hear the increasing support they are receiving from the stands.

I really hope this support will continue to grow in the weeks ahead.

To those of you who will travel to Tasmania on the weekend, I look forward to catching up with you and our Tassie supporters for what will be I am sure, another great test of our professionalism, and another great game.

Stay well

Jeff Kennett
President
