WEST Coast has lost another important player for Saturday's home clash against Port Adelaide, with emerging midfielder Dom Sheed joining speedster Lewis Jetta on the sidelines.
Sheed has been battling foot soreness and was under a cloud for last Sunday's historic Western Derby after failing to train last Tuesday.
The 23-year-old played and collected 23 touches, but wasn't sighted at Lathlain Park earlier this week and will be managed from the Power clash.
It is unclear how long Sheed will be sidelined, but the Eagles hope rest will minimise the left-footer's absence.
Sheed's injury is likely to raise more questions about Optus Stadium's hard surface after a spate of lower-leg issues, most notably the ongoing absence of Sydney star Lance Franklin with a bruised heel after playing at the venue in round one.
Eagles star Luke Shuey is also managing a foot issue after tweaking muscles under his big toe against Gold Coast at WA's new football venue in round four.
Jetta was ruled out earlier in the week after tweaking a calf during the final term of the nailbiting Derby triumph.
Sheed's absence could open the door for the Eagles to blood a sixth debutant, with draftee Brayden Ainsworth in solid form at East Perth and a similar type of onballer.
Ainsworth, pick 32 in last year's NAB AFL Draft, is averaging 24.3 disposals for the Royals and has been on the verge of senior selection.
Ex-Power midfielder Brendon Ah Chee is another option to make his club debut against his ex-teammates after two games back at WAFL level from an ankle problem, while reliable Mark Hutchings is also in the mix.
Rebounding half-back Francis Watson, also yet to debut, shapes as a possible replacement for Jetta.
Watson, Ainsworth and last round's debutant Jack Petruccelle this week extended their contracts, continuing a signing frenzy at the Eagles.
