THE Power’s 2008 game day volunteers were acknowledged by the Port Adelaide Football Club on Sunday at a Pre-Season Volunteers BBQ held at Allenby Gardens Reserve.

The warm summer weather ensured a great turn out by the Port Adelaide Cheer Squad Supporter’s Club and Power Funk Squad members alike who joined in with some pre-season kicking practice on the oval followed by a rather comical game of cricket.

Power Board Director Alex Panas cooked up a storm behind the BBQ with his two sons ensuring a continuous supply of lamb chops, beef schnitzel and continental sausages to keep the hungry hordes happy!

Game Day Volunteers were also treated to an array of giveaways thanks to the club’s partners Vodafone, Lion Nathan, Coca-Cola and NAB and new club contributor Holco Meats.

The Power Funk Squad dancers even got to sample the very exciting new product “Choccy Thundas” thanks to Robern Menz.

The Port Adelaide Football Club would once again like to recognise its 2008 Game Day Volunteers for the behind-the-scenes work that happens at every home match. Without you, we could not put on all the entertainment and activities for Power members and supporters that we do each week.

Should you be interested in getting involved with banner making and the Port Adelaide Cheer Squad’s game day activities in 2009, please contact Cheer Squad President Ian Wilson at iwilson@ihug.com.au or on 8268 5870.

The Power Funk Squad will also be looking for talented new dancers to support the team at Power home games in 2009. Please contact Santina at santina@acpa.com.au on 8212 8400 should you wish to enquire about dance classes and how you could be selected to participate in on-ground performances this season.
