BRISBANE Lions big man Mitch Clark remains adamant that he wants to join Fremantle, although his manager has admitted that West Coast has shown belated interest in him.

The 23-year-old, who was taken with pick nine in the 2005 NAB AFL Draft, is already back in Perth and is hoping a deal between Fremantle and the Lions will be struck in the coming days.

"The possible outcome will probably be [a move to] Fremantle, I'd suggest, and I think the deal will get done," Clark's manager Colin Young told AFL.com.au's Trade Week Radio on Monday morning.

"I'm surely hoping it will get done."

Fremantle's first selection in the upcoming national draft is pick 16, and the club is expected to offer it to the Lions in exchange for Clark.

"The draft is still compromised by Gold Coast and GWS," Young said.

"Unfortunately Fremantle don't have a top-10 pick to give up, so they're restricted in what they can give.

"If the draft wasn't compromised, Fremantle would have pick seven, and that and a player or that and a late pick might get the job done.

"I've spoken to 'Vossy' [Lions coach Michael Voss] early on, and he said they … probably want a player and an early pick.

"So hopefully both clubs have [plans] A, B and C and they can meet somewhere in the middle, otherwise we're looking at the pre-season [draft], which is not a healthy way to go.

Clark, who has played 82 games for the Lions and booted 61 goals since making his debut in 2006, has been touted as being part of a three-way deal to get West Coast midfielder Brad Ebert to the Crows.

"I did take a couple of calls from West Coast regarding where Mitch was at, but I don't think they're in a position to secure Mitch," Young said.

"They really haven't done their due diligence - meeting with Mitch or going through medicals or anything like that.

"Mitch has met with Fremantle, he's met with Ross [Lyon], and he just loves where they're going and he want to be there.

"I think he is Fremantle-bound."

Even if no deal can be done in trade week, and if the prospect of joining Freo in the pre-season draft begins to look shaky, Clark remains committed to leaving the Lions.

"He been over [in Perth] for a month, and he's loving being back in town with his family," Young said. "I'm sure Brisbane have plans now to replace Mitch, and I know they're working hard at replacing Mitch, so I think he will be gone one way or another."
