This important move follows the appointment of Jonathan Brown as sole Club Captain in October this year, after two seasons of a joint co-captaincy arrangement.
The selection of four Vice-Captains as senior members of the team's Leadership Group was recommended by the Football Department under Michael Voss and Graeme Allan and unanimously endorsed by the Lions Board.
The new leadership structure presents an exciting blend of youth and experience with Adcock aged 23 and Merrett aged 24, set to fulfil official leadership roles for the first time alongside former Co-Captains and AFL champions Black aged 29 and Power aged 28.
It also spreads leadership right across the field with Brown positioned in attack, Merrett in defence and Black, Power and Adcock roaming the midfield.
