“We don’t have our main training session until Thursday but I would very much doubt he would even venture on to the ground on Thursday. If he’s not [fit] at that stage, he would be highly unlikely to play,” he said.
“We’ll just see until later in the week since it is a Sunday game,” Wallace said.
Skipper Kane Johnson will be back in the side after serving his self-imposed one match suspension while Mitch Morton is a chance to make his Tigers debut.
Morton, who was traded from West Coast at the end of last year, booted seven goals for the Coburg Tigers in the VFL last week.
“He (Morton) was very good last week at the next level but sometimes it is very difficult to equate one level to another and how you perform,” Wallace said.
“We’ve had players that play really good footy at VFL level and come up and have found it really difficult with the pace of the game.”
Wallace said defender Jake King would bounce back after a poor game against the Kangaroos.
King was one of the best in the side’s win over Carlton in round one but fell away last week.
“That’s the nature of the game, one minute you’re the hero and the next you’re the villain,” Wallace said.
“It’s part of the learning process, handling everything. Certainly through no fault of his own he probably found himself in a little bit of an unfamiliar position on the weekend.
“The one thing I liked about his game was he kept taking it on regardless. Deep into the third quarter he kicks a goal when he’s charged down from the back pocket and gone inside 50.
“He certainly wasn’t the lone ranger in under-performing on the weekend.”
