This month we are pleased to announce that eight new and exciting Curriculum Lessons have been added to the website for Middle and Upper Primary students. 1Seven survey results have told us that the curriculum section is one of the most popular features of the 1Seven website and we hope these new lessons will become another valuable resource in promoting the ‘Move More, Eat Well’ message.

These new curriculum lessons focus primarily on physical exercise and offer fun and interactive games and activities to get students moving, as well as helping them to understand more about how exercise affects their bodies. You can find the lessons in the Curriculum Resources area of the website (weeks 9-12 in the Middle and Upper Primaries sections).

Stay tuned later in 2010 ‘cos more lessons focusing on nutrition and healthy eating are on their way!

Schools Crucial for Keeping Kids on the Move

Young Australians may be more physically active than is widely believed - but school physical education still plays a vital role in keeping kids on the move.

KIDS

Lesson: Dance Attack!

Students will identify and experience the effect of moderate intensity physical activity on the body during the Dance activity to identify their intensity level.

Why Does Exercise Feel Good?

Exercise is good for our bodies in so many ways. It strengthens our bones and muscles, keeps our heart and lungs in good shape and makes us less likely to get sick. But none of this explains why it can feel so good.

PARENTS

School Sport a Lifetime Habit

The health legacy left by dedicated teachers may be greater than you think. An international research project has highlighted just how important physical activity is during the school years.
