Round 4 v Adelaide: Three votes
Judd hits the ground running in his first game back from suspension, gathering 30 touches in the thumping win over Adelaide. Also laid nine tackles for his trouble.

Round 5 v Geelong: Three votes

Dominates in his second game of the season as the Blues upset Geelong at the MCG. Judd gathered 27 touches as the Blues ran away 37-point winners.

Round 6 v Collingwood: Three votes
Starred despite his team getting thumped by Collingwood at the MCG. Was tag-teamed all day but still got away to gather 37 touches in a losing side. Also managed to extract 11 clearances.

Round 7 v St Kilda: Three votes
Lucky to poll in this one despite it being a Carlton win against a highly-rated side. Outplayed Lenny Hayes and Clint Jones but the Blues’ small forwards starred on the day.

Round 8 v Port Adelaide: Three votes
Matt Kreuzer was unlucky not to poll after kicking three goals but Judd was influential with his 27 touches and eight tackles in Carlton’s 26-point win.

Round 11 v Melbourne: Two votes
Seemed to be well held by James McDonald in the game against the Demons. An explosive final term may have got him over the line in the eyes of the umpires.

Round 13 v Fremantle: Two votes
Copped another hard tag by Fremantle’s Adam McPhee. Finished with 30 disposals. Seemed frustrated at times but obviously had the umpires’ sympathy.

Round 14 v Brisbane Lions: Three votes

Tagged by a variety of opponents including a fascinating duel with Simon Black. Was fortunate not to be pipped by Eddie Betts, who kicked five goals.

Round 17 v West Coast: One vote
Turned on a bit of pace against his old side. He had a quiet first half but stormed home in the second to fall in behind Kade Simpson and Marc Murphy for his first single-vote performance of the year.

Round 19 v Essendon: Three votes
Threw himself into every contest and starred for the Blues. Jeff Garlett threatened to steal votes with his stunning six-goal haul but Judd was adjudged best on ground.

Round 20 v Richmond: Three votes
Sealed the Brownlow with his classy performance against the Tigers. Had 30 disposals, nine tackles and was central to the 21-point win.

Round 22 v Fremantle: One vote

Put the icing on the cake with one final vote in the loss at Subiaco Oval. Once again he was matched with McPhee for the night but still managed to get away with 30 disposals. Was again lucky to get in the votes, however, as a host of players starred from both sides.
