THE Power will make at least two changes for its match against Melbourne on Sunday, possibly presenting a debut for livewire forward Wade Thompson.

Ruckman Dean Brogan returns from a one-week suspension in replace of Justin Westhoff, who will miss a month with a broken foot.

The other change will be of much interest on Friday night when the 25-man squad becomes 22.

The spot of David Rodan is up for grabs after the midfielder was dropped for the first time since joining from Richmond at the end of the 2007 season. Rodan had played every game since Round 1 of 2008.

In line for a call-up is Thompson, who starred in the pre-season competition, Tom Logan, who finished in the top 10 of the best-and-fairest last year, hard-nut Matt Thomas or mobile forward Matt Westhoff.

“It was a tough one. Rodan struggled a bit for form over the pre-season and we feel like we’ve got the depth to make a change,” football manager Peter Rohde told PortAdelaideFC.com.au.

“We’ve got some flexibility in what we do from here. Matt Westhoff is a logical replacement for Justin but we’ll see what Melbourne do before we name the final team. Wade Thompson has been on the cusp for a while, and Thomas and Logan have been performing well in the SANFL, so we’ll wait and see.”
