The Victorian rooms were buzzing after last night’s victory over the Dream Team. We went into the rooms to find out what the players thought of the win.

TRENT CROAD:
“It was a great exhibition game and really good to be a part of. I was lucky enough to play in 1999 and it is a great way to end off a big week promoting the game. We hope the Big V continues on because from our point of view the players love it.”

JIMMY BARTEL:
“It was a pretty high-scoring game – very free-flowing and we saw the best of the best showcased. You want your Geelong teammates to do well but you still want to beat them. The players would love to see this be a regular thing. You just have to get the timing right, maybe we could play it in pre-season.”

TROY SIMMONDS:
“It was a pretty good game to watch. The ball was moving quickly. There was some real talent out there and it was great to experience it. It’s the highlight of my career.”

SCOTT PENDLEBURY:
“They jumped us at the start but we got back. We were all here for a reason and we really wanted to win. It was a great chance to get to know these guys.”

HEATH SHAW:
“It was a great game and it was close all day. When I was sitting on the bench I made sure I took it all in.  It was amazing. I got a few touches and really wanted to play my part.”

LUKE POWER:
“It was great to play with 50 of the best players in Australia. It’s something I’ll have forever.  It might be my last chance to win the Victorian jumper.”

RYAN O’KEEFE:
“It is definitely a career experience and something I’ll treasure. There were no weak links on either side. I think if everyone can take it really seriously and play with a bit of passion then it can work permanently.”

ROBERT MURPHY:
“It was exciting to be a part of. It is something they can look at in the future. I was a bit of a fifth wheel at times. It was a bit of a melting pot there with all the forwards.”
