The AFL wishes to advise the goal awarded to West Coast Eagles player Oscar Allen in the third quarter of the Round 11 match between the West Coast Eagles and the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium has been reviewed.
The score review official reviewed goal-line vision for a potential touch in the goal square, but did not follow the procedure to review vision for a potential touch off the boot.
The AFL acknowledges that had the score review official followed the correct process, there was vision available to show a touch off the boot by Western Bulldogs player Marcus Bontempelli.
The AFL will continue to educate all score review officials to maximise the effectiveness of the score review system.
