THE AFL is set to outline the drafting conditions for the new Gold Coast team, set to enter the competition in 2011, on Thursday afternoon.
Already the GC17 group has named West Coast great and current Collingwood assistant coach Guy McKenna as its first coach for 2009-10. He will guide the team in the TAC Cup next year and in the VFL in 2010.
Western Bulldogs recruiting manager Scott Clayton has also been given a three-year deal, starting in January next year, to head up the same position with the AFL's 17th club.
Already, GC17 has recruited Queensland youngsters Jesse Haberfield, Jack Stanlake, Zac Smith, Charlie Dixon and Jack Stanley as inaugural players.
The AFL will hold a media conference at 3.45pm (Melbourne time) today.
